Sania-Shoaib to play mix-doubles!

Well as the news broke of Sania Mirza, India's answer to Anna Kournikova, getting married to Shoaib Malik, presently estranged pakistani cricketer, analysis, arguments, debates and newshour discussions are bound to follow.
So totally acknowledging their personal right to marry anybody (on planet or outside), I would still like to stick my neck out and try to relate the publicly perceived personality they carry (in particular Sania) vs this choice.
For starters, do you know how many followers Shoaib Malik had on twitter till yesterday ? (Btw, yes he too tweets, total 34, 10% coming in last 20 hours alone).
When I checked after the news first came on Indian news channels Shoaib had 85 followers, which is much lesser than many of my cousins' who are close to 12 years.
Come on, now what does twitter has to do with someone getting married ? Well nothing till you are not a celebrity but the moment you are suppose to have fans/followers a lot can be gauged from twitter world. And if you still are wondering about all this logic then check the Malik's followers' number now, some 24 hours later the news broke, 1476 !!
So you see suddenly Malik seems to have gained popularity even while serving an official ban from playing cricket, something which is the prime reason people should have been following him. And is the boy excited, well you can say so, 3 tweets in last 25 hours, he can't wait to let the whole world know !
This whole difference in the brand value of Sania and Shoiab and not the International boundaries is something they need to watch out for. More so when Sania is known to be (at least pretend to be) a sort of rebel and can definitely go an extra mile to prove her point or to remain in the center of attraction all the time. Of course we can stop speculating someone's personal decisions but then didn't I disclaimed in the beginning itself. :)
So Sania-n-Sohaib here's wishing you a rocking mix doubles !!
